What should I do with a necklace from a boy?

We were “dating”, but not anymore. He gave me a necklace that looks really gaudy and I don’t want it and none of my friends do either. I wanted to just throw it out but I don’t know how much money he spent on it. The box doesn’t have a jewlers name on it, but the inside of it says, “18 KT over sterling silver genuine diamond.” and the thing that the necklace is on says, “.10 CT TW.”. I don’t know what to do with it. Selling it isn’t an option. I can’t wear it. Should I throw it away or “accidentally leave it somewhere.”? Help!

Just return it to him nd tell him u dnt want it anymore
i’d say put it away in ur house somewhere where you’ll never find it or forget it. or you could give it back to him and tell him y u dont want it.. and please dont throw it away!
Why is selling it out of the question? He gave it to you, didn’t ask for it back so you should do with it what you want… Honestly, I’d sell it for what it’s worth and buy something new for myself to remind me that I’m worth it. =)

Give it back to him, if you don’t wanna sell it.
I would sell it though like take it to a jewelry sales person they may be able to identify it.
Or sell it at an auction they could price it for you im sure.
As above… Put it on Craigslist or give it back to the guy. He probably won’t want it but you can always ask.
Why not just hold on to it, and then give it as a gift to someone your not to incline to buy something nice for. We all have one of those kind of associates!
It’s not going to sell, a pawnshop will refuse to take it. It’s a gift from the heart not the wallet. Don’t even worry about it.
if it were me, I would throw it off a bridge, cliff anything that would help me feel better about the whole situation and get it out of my life forever!
dumbass if he means something to just save it as a keep sake..put in away somewhere. and if you get back together you can pull it out wear it one time so he knows you kept it.then maybe lose it while he is with you and say next time buy me one that looks like( and explain what you want thenn). but if you will never get back together toss it
Keep the thing for a while until selling it IS an option. Or donate it to charity. Or leave it somewhere. Whatever you do, DO NOT throw it away. Plus you never know that could be a blood diamond, who knows what might have happened to someone so that you could have that diamond and you throw it out.
