Buying diamond necklace from mall kiosk?

diamond necklace
Toots asked:

I bought this “diamond” necklace from a mall in Buffalo and the seller kept saying they were real. I was skeptical because the diamonds look like little specks of metal. I looked with a magnifying glass and they look like metal or stones with white gold painted over them. Are there diamonds somewhere in this necklace or why else would they insist it’s diamonds?
It wasn’t expensive so I bought it anyways cause it was pretty. But it’s just a little odd they would keep saying that its real. I was choosing between two necklaces and she checked the tags under them and said one was cubic zirconia and the other was diamonds. So far, I don’t see diamonds under a magnifying glass.

was it expensive? don’t these things come with a cert, if they’re genuine?

well, if it wasn’t expensive, then let it rest. you can find out whether’s it’s genuine at any good jeweller.
