Has anyone else heard of the Groom giving the bride a piece of jewelry at the rehearsal dinner?

It’s a simple question- Does the groom traditional give a nice piece of jewerly to the bride at the rehearsal dinner for her to wear at the wedding??

My FI swears I am scamming for more jewerly but seriously EVER wedding I have been the groom has given his bride a nice peice of jewerly to wear for the wedding- the something new. And I have been in about 4 wedding…. Most of the gifts were diamond necklaces… I am not saying he gotta spring for that- I was just making the point it was nice, not a piece of costume jewelry.

This all came up because he ask me if I was planning to wear this very nice necklace that he gave me for Christmas when we get married- I said yes and figured I suggest he get me the earrings to match if for a wedding gift. The necklace is very unique and hard to match up so I figured that would a nice gift.
I just want to know if anyone else has heard or done this?? Or are all of my friends greedy little hoe bags!! LOL

Will kay jewelers fix a broken off pearl on my necklace?

My necklace is like a circle, with diamond accents on the bottom and a pearl that hangs from the top of the circle. A while back the pearl had bent all the way back so it was even with the rest of the necklace, which the pearl is supposed to be further in front of it. I took it into Kay to see if i needed to fix it but I had bent it forward and it looked fine, and the lady said that she didn’t see anything really wrong with it so it should be okay, but tonight, the whole pearl just broke off. I am worried that they will say that I can’t send it back to be fixed or something. Anyone know anything about this?
Oh, I forgot to mention I have the lifetime warrenty on the necklace.
